晋江位于中国福建东南沿海，因西晋永嘉年间，中原百姓避战乱南迁，据江居住而得名，唐开元六年（718年）置县，至今已有1000多年历史。在人稠地瘠、资源匮乏的滨海自然环境下，经过漫长的历史积淀，形成中原文化、闽越文化、海洋文化相互交融的多元文化和重商务实、开放兼容、爱拼敢赢的人文精神，是海内外500万晋江人共同的文化基因和发展的不竭动力。
During Yongjia period of Western Jin Dynasty, in order to escape from the scourge of turmoil, people from Central Plains migrated southward and finally settled down alongside the Jin river, therefore the place got named as Jinjiang. Located in Southeast coast of Fujian Province, CN, Jinjiang has a history for 1000 years since the 6th year of Kaiyuan period under the reign of Emperor Li Longji in the Tang Dynasty when Emperor bestowed it as a county. With a offshore natural environment which is poor in land but densely populated and short in resources, and after hundreds of years’ development, Jinjiang gradually formed a multiculture which is mixed up with Central Plain Culture、Min-Yue Culture(a culture which is blended between Fujian Culture and Guangdong Culture) and Marine Culture and formed a Humanity spirit featured with pragmatic mercantilism、open and receptive and a faith of no pain no gain, all of that constitute the common gene of cultural transferation and endless motivation of development for 5 million Jinjiang people from home and abroad.
改革开放以来，承载千年底蕴的晋江，不断创新发展“晋江经验”，经济实力连续20年保持福建省县域首位，县域经济基本竞争力常年列全国百强县（市）第5-7位，成为中国民营经济的“品牌之都”。在经济迅猛发展的基础上，社会民生事业蓬勃发展，加上活跃的民间慈善，共同塑造中国爱心城市。

In 30 years, Jinjiang got remarkable achievements in its economic and social development and it now steps into a key period of transformation and upgrading. In the spirit of The Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist, together with the chance of Second Venture Jinjiang people from home and abroad commit themselves to building a city of Intelligence、Happiness、Ecocity、Humanity and Bay City, meanwhile they also aim at building Jinjiang as a Capital of Good Brands in China、Modern Industry Base and Offshore Ecological City.
